Eviction target

For those of you that, like me, have been living under a rock the past few days. Here’s some news for you.

Hard Knocks is getting evicted by Goonswarm.

I don’t know much about how and why but from what I gather is that The Initiative has been planning to do this for the past couple of month.

People are currently tuning in as the current biggest Wormhole corporation in EVE is getting evicted from their home hole. Something many people have thought impossible.

I have been in wormhole groups for the past couple of years and there’s always been a bit of a love/hate relationship when talking about HardKnocks. There’s no arguing that they did good, they were the first to build a keepstar in their home, are able to bring huge fleets and rent out C6 space.

Problem that most people have with it, is that there’s absolutely no way to fight a powerblock like that. None.

As a pilot that has always been in small wormhole corporations, the moment I rolled into rage I made sure that the whole chain got rolled. I never wanted anything to do with them being anywhere near me because it meant overwhelming numbers and losing my ships without ever having stood a chance.

The fact that they rent out the C6 space also meant that other corporations never really had a chance to set it up themselves. They’re basically to wormholes what null sec alliances do to null sec. Something I’ve already talked about in the past that I hate.

It’s a shame that this is a null sec alliance pushing them out. But let’s be real, no way in hell would us wormholers been able to make this happen. We do not have the resources, logistics or people to do this.

I’m curious what this means for the future of wormhole space. I just hope it won’t come and bite us all in the ass. I’d rather not have HK be replaced by a bunch of nullseccers.

Especially seeing that I am starting to log in once more.

GG CCP

Those of us that live in a wormhole are used to being left out by CCP or taken up the ass when it comes to people living in other parts of the EvE online universe.

We’re used to it, it’s been like that ever since people figured out that they could live in wormholes. But today truly is a dark day.

The people at CCP released a blog post concerning their newest addition to bending wormholers over a table and taking them up the ass without any lube.

https://www.eveonline.com/article/pf7gpi/october-balance-pass

If you’re not quite well versed with wormholes, it’s the bit where they talk about HIC changes.

When you live in a wormhole you have a one or two static connections, in order to close this one goes out to “roll” a hole. You know their approximate mass and you use a few battleships to close it. From time to time the battleships don’t cut it and the hole goes in a critical state.

Being critical means that it’s mass is less than 10% of it’s total mass. Meaning that it could be as high as 100m or as low as the mass of a capsule.

The good people living in wormholes figured out that in order to roll it faster, you could put a few bubbles on a HIC, activate them, which makes your mass less than that of a capsule, and then jump back inside their home using a prop mode. Usually closing the hole right behind them.

Not having this kind of thing to close a wormhole would make it hard for people living in them to find new content.

BUT! CCP in their current state doesn’t care one bit about the wormhole community.

Unfortunately, wormholers will be unwilling collateral damage, as they often are, due to the incredible usefulness of HICs for rolling holes. We may address this with a specific mass manipulation module at some point in the future but want to move forward on fixing this broken behavior as fast as possible.

Translation: “We know you guys use and kind of need this for your playstyle but sucks to be you”

It’s a damn shame really, a lot of people are already commenting on reddit about all of this. I’m curious to what will happen.

But I doubt anything good will come out of it.

The fact that almost the whole CSM consists of Goons and nobody that actually lives in a wormhole isn’t that great… Who would have thought..

New Design!

I’ve been helping out my mother with a new design for her site and decided I should update my own.

So now that happened too!

Things are a work in progress still. And I’m still building a house too.

Have to say that buying a Mavic Air drone was one of the best decisions I made this year.

Searching for a way forward

I logged on the other day, because I was poked by a friend of mine about something that was said about the state of wormholes.

His poke reminded me of the game once more, about the fact that I miss it. And that I’m not playing it right now.

I hate not playing actually, I hate not having a place in the game right now. No friends to log on with, nobody to play with.

Because EvE in a whole, is the most fun when playing it with the people you know, with people you like hanging out with. It’s also one of the only communities that has made me a few lasting friendships.

Luckily I still play games with some of the people I met in EvE, but every few weeks I think on the game, and have this wish to come back to it. But without an idea on how to go at it.

There’s multiple factors at play in this. I don’t want to do anything in Null sec, at all. I hate sov wars I hate the blocks and I absolutely loathe the fact that most people I have seen in null sec are afraid to do anything unless they have 10 times the numbers of the other team.

I’ve tried roughly 3 or 4 different null sec coorporations, the only guys that weren’t like that, are the ones that lived in NPC space, they didn’t care, they were fun to play with and I had a lot of fun hanging out with them on TS.

Unfortunately they went to SOV space and I have no idea what they’re up to now, maybe I should poke someone again, see what they’re up to.

I’m still in w-space right now though, having joined a friend’s russian friends. I’ve had a few fun encounters with them, but mostly don’t log on because of the language barrier. Which is a shame.

Well, that and the fact that the other guys that joined along with me aren’t actively playing anymore either.

The joys that are life and work.

Having typed this. I think I’m going to poke a few people. See if I can shift some things around. Try and become semi-active once more.

Not that there’s many people reading out there, but if you think you have something that could interest me, poke me. For the love of Bob poke me!

We’re there

It took a bit longer than expected but a few days ago I moved back into a wormhole.

I joined up with a few friends in a C5 and enjoying myself again in the limited time I find myself playing.

The first ten minutes in the corporation already had me participate in a few dread kills so that was of to a good start.

ISK making is picking up again too, I found a whole bunch of hulls that I bought when I had decided to quit for a few months, so I’m putting them on the market again slowly.

Don’t really need the ISK but I don’t need the hulls either seeing that they’re not ships I will be flying at this moment.

I’ll mostly be flying in T3’s, which makes me happy. I really like flying in the more “expensive” things. And it’s not like it’s that hard to earn it back.

And we’re moving

In the past few weeks a few people have contacted me about coming on EvE again. And I’m in the process of making some things happen. It’ll take a while but eventually something will happen. I’m not going to say when because I can’t set a date to it.

Other than my return to EvE, I’m still in the process of building a house. Well, letting people build it for me. All the damn paperwork, it’s a real pain in the ass. But we’re getting there.

Outside that I’ll also be moving the site to a different provider within the next few days. Time for another change 😉

See you all “soon”
